[Well, it's been a while. Carlos let Aisha go without too much fuss but he did tell her if she needed anything he was just a call away. Still, he couldn't help but worry. Els really did not get it. Carlos had confirmed as much himself.

He understood pining. He was there himself. But he also understood needs and taking care of one's self and it was clear Aisha had some... hangups about that.

Oh, yeah, i'm doing great. I'm spending some quality time locked in my room so I don't try to jump my best friend because of this crap.

[ She may have also been singing a bit ... But lol no. Not saying that. She was already embarrassed enough about a lot of things, her singing voice did not have to be among them. ]

[ Well, he was looking for sparring partners. As flattering as it would be to have two cute guys fighting over her, though, she will still insist all day every day that Els is in no way at fault for her stupidity and that it's all on her. ]

Are you sure? I don't know what I'd be capable of when I'm like this and ... It's kind of scary.

[ She hates the idea of not being in control of herself more than she hates the idea of being powerless. ]

[Carlos isn't buying it. At some point you have to see it. She may make it difficult but she doesn't make it impossible. At some point he has to see something.

He doesn't like that she's not only suffering, she's blaming herself for it when there was someone in her life that could easily be the solution.

At least he's willing to pick up the slack Els seems entirely unaware he's causing...]

It is, but isn't that all the reason to be with someone you already know you can trust not to take advantage of it? This doesn't negate what I said about it being at your speed.

[ And with that, the screen goes black, but she's pretty quick to appear at his door. She knocks on it a few times to make sure he's home. ]

[Luckily he had a feeling she would at the very least want company that wasn't her idiot roommate so he had already gone to his apartment before messaging her. He answers the door, smartly not half dressed like he actually felt like being thanks to that damn mark. He wasn't about come on that strong and has enough sense still to realize it.]

[ Well, that was. Not something she expected to see. Ever. But hey, she's not gonna deny him. ]

[ Sucks that she had to put away this book for now, but booty the boy calls and she comes running. She makes it home pretty quick and comes through the door. ]

Hey! I'm in here.

[He calls from the living room, and is currently sitting on the couch, engrossed in a game that has nothing to do with candies or crushing on his device. As she comes in he looks up and pats the couch for her to join him.]

That was fast.

I wasn't that far away.

[ Actually, she was just teleporting. She figured it must have been important if he was poking her to talk. But eh, tomato tomahto. She moved to sit next to him and try to get a look at what he was doing on his phone.

Figures, he'd figure games out on this thing quickly. ]

[Focused on his phone for a few seconds longer, he grumbles and puts it down before it can distract him more. After looking up at the woman he smiles and moves a hand to rest it on hers.]

I wanted to see you, duh.

[ She could have gotten snippy about making her think it was an emergency or something, but his hand on hers calmed her down enough to throw that out the window. ]

You could've just said that, dummy.

[ But she's smiling, letting her fingers entwine with his and giving his hand a squeeze. ]

[Carlos looks... not bad but there's definitely something off about him. Hair a little messier than usual, the beginnings of dark circles under his eyes.

He tries to smile anyway but it's very clear this isn't his usual jovial self.]

Hey, just letting you know if you come around looking for me, I moved back to my old place.

[ Or something happened. Aisha's expression softens into a look that perhaps Carlos has seen a few times, but not often from Aisha. ]

[He lets out a thick laugh, looking away and dragging a calloused hand down his face. He's not teary or anything but he does look like the kind of exhausted you get when you've been dealing with the same shit for days.]

[ She'll do it, bruh. Outside of Els, you're like her best friend in this place. ]
